Code of Ethics

Every MPPGA member affirms this Code of Ethics when they join and again at renewal, a shared commitment to professionalism, animal welfare, continuing education, and ethical conduct across our industry.

As a member of the Maine Professional Pet Groomers Association, I make the following pledges:

  • I pledge to treat all animals entrusted in my care with kindness, patience, respect, and compassion.
  • I pledge to prioritize the pet's safety, health and welfare.
  • I pledge to exhibit proper professional behavior at all times with honesty and integrity.
  • I pledge to work toward establishing high standards by staying current with industry trends and continuing education.
  • I pledge to provide education to my clients and the general public on the benefits of professional pet grooming.
  • I pledge to promote a spirit of collaboration and cooperation among my peers.
  • I pledge to advance personal growth by committing to professionalism, compassion and continuing education.
  • I pledge to follow the Professional Pet Groomers and Stylists Alliance Standards of Care, Safety and Sanitation.
